Kuala Lumpur: Interference by major powers such as the United States in the Iran-Israel conflict will only worsen the situation and undermine regional stability as well as the global economy, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today. He highlighted that the involvement of the United States in the conflict could escalate tensions and have a direct impact on key global trade routes such as the Strait of Hormuz.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar expressed concerns that with the involvement of external powers, including the United States, the situation will only become more volatile. He noted that if the Strait of Hormuz is blocked, it will pose a significant problem to the global economy. Anwar’s remarks came after a session with the Sarawak Keadilan Leadership Council.
Anwar reiterated Malaysia’s consistent stance in calling for all parties to cease all forms of violence and demanded an immediate end to Israel’s provocative actions and brutality. He emphasized that for true peace to be achieved, pressure must be applied on Israel to stop its provocative and violent behavior towards other countries.
He also remarked that sovereign nations must not be silenced from voicing out on human rights and universal justice. Anwar affirmed Malaysia’s position, stating that independent and sovereign nations must retain the ability to speak up on issues of rights and justice.
