Two Areas in Sarawak Record Hazardous API Levels as of 4 PM

Sarawak: Two areas in Sarawak recorded hazardous Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 4 pm today, with the Serian district police headquarters recording the highest reading at 325. According to Malaysian API Management System (APIMS), Kuching recorded a hazardous API reading of 309.

Meanwhile, five areas in Sarawak recorded very unhealthy API readings: Samarahan (287), Sarikei (256), Sibu (248), Sri Aman (247), and Mukah (205).

The report also highlighted that 16 stations reported API readings at the unhealthy level. Bintulu in Sarawak had the highest reading at 192, followed by Kapit (190), Politeknik Kota Kinabalu in Sabah (178), Keningau (175), and Kota Kinabalu (173).

Other areas with unhealthy API readings included Labuan (173), Samalaju in Sarawak (172), Kimanis in Sabah (171), ILP Miri, Sarawak (170), Limbang, Sarawak (169), Miri, Sarawak (166), Johan Setia in Selangor (159), Putrajaya (151), Nilai in Negeri Sembilan (151), Sandakan in Sabah (136), and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan (109).

Moreover, 45 stations recorded API readings at the moderate level, while no stations recorded readings in the good category. An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and readings above 300 are classified as hazardous.
