Putrajaya: The Trooping of the Colours ceremony conducted by the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) in celebration of the official birthday of Yang di-Pertuan Agong showcases the MAF's steadfast dedication and loyalty to the King and the nation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim shared on Facebook that the ceremony featured the five royal colours, which were paraded by various regiments: the Royal Malay Regiment, Royal Ranger Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps, Royal Malaysian Navy, and the Royal Malaysian Air Force. Anwar highlighted that these colours serve as a tribute and symbol of pride, patriotism, and unwavering loyalty of the MAF to the King and the nation.

Prime Minister Anwar had earlier accompanied His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, at the ceremony, which took place at Dataran Pahlawan Negara in Putrajaya. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, and Chief of Defence Force General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, in a separate Facebook post, emphasized that the ceremony is a military tradition that significantly contributes to fostering patriotism while paying homage to the nation's history and the sacrifices made to safeguard its sovereignty. Fahmi extended his congratulations to the 148 officers and 1,192 personnel from all three branches of the MAF for their successful organization of the ceremony. He also expressed his wishes for continued strength, good health, and protection for all MAF members as they fulfill their duty to maintain the country's peace and sovereignty.

The Trooping of the Colours ceremony is traditionally held three times during the five-year reign of each Malay Ruler appointed as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, specifically in the first, third, and final years of the reign.
