Trend Setters JDT Create History By Registering 29 Consecutive Home Wins

Johor Bahru: Trend setters Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) once again made history by recording their 29th consecutive home win in the 2024/2025 Malaysian Football League action after beating Sabah FC in their Super League action last Saturday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JDT, through a statement on its Facebook page, said that the victory broke its own record recognized by the ‘Malaysia Book of Records’ on July 19, 2019, which was for the most consecutive wins after registering 28 consecutive victories. JDT expressed pride in setting a new benchmark in Malaysian football history with this latest achievement.

In 2019, a local media reported that JDT made history when it became the only team in the country to successfully receive a certificate of recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) after winning the Super League for six consecutive seasons. This accolade was a testament to the team’s consistent performance and dominance in Malaysian football over the years.

The record was established after Hector Bidoglio’s squad maintained an unbeaten record at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, and sustained an unbeaten run in all league matches during the 2016 season. This remarkable achievement highlights JDT’s long-standing tradition of excellence and their formidable presence on home ground.
