Tour Of Thailand: Barbier Dominates Stage Two To Secure Consecutive Victories

Nong khai: Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) rider Pierre Barbier clinched victory in Stage Two of the Tour of Thailand today, marking his second consecutive win in the race. The triumph also propelled him to the forefront of the overall standings, earning him the prestigious yellow jersey after this stage.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, TSG's chief operating officer Nasiruddin Wan Idrus expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, noting that Barbier's achievement met their goal of securing two podium finishes in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) 2.1-rated race. Nasiruddin highlighted the challenging conditions, with temperatures surpassing 40 degrees Celsius, but credited Barbier's success to the solid support from his teammates.

Stage Two spanned 150.2 kilometers, from Phon Pisai to Nong Khai. Barbier completed the course in three hours, 19 minutes, and 58 seconds, outperforming 113 competitors from 19 different teams. His victory was closely followed by Salby Alexander of China's Li Ning Star team, who took second place, while Pulard Armand Jean Baptiste from Thailand's Roojai Insurance Winspace secured third place.
