Tokyo: Toshiba Electronic Devices and Storage Corporation ("Toshiba") has introduced two new high-speed 2:1 multiplexer (Mux) and 1:2 demultiplexer (De-Mux) switches, 'TDS5C212MX' and 'TDS5B212MX,' designed to support advanced interfaces such as PCIe® 6.0 and USB4® Version 2.0. Volume shipments for these products have commenced today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, as technological advancements continue in servers, industrial testers, robots, and PCs, there is a rising demand for the efficient switching of ultra-high-speed, wide-bandwidth differential signals within confined board spaces. Toshiba's newly launched products address this need through their proprietary SOI process, TarfSOIS. This process allows the Mux and De-Mux switches to achieve a differential bandwidth of 34GHz for the TDS5C212MX and 29GHz for the TDS5B212MX, which are industry-leading specifications.
These substantial bandwidths play a crucial role in minimizing signal waveform distortion, thereby enhancing the reliability of high-speed data transmission. This development aligns with the growing need for dependable and efficient data handling capabilities in rapidly evolving technological environments.
