Toshiba: Toshiba Electronic Devices and Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) has commenced mass production of the “TB9103FTG,” a gate driver IC designed for automotive brushed DC motors. This product is targeted at applications such as latch motors and lock motors used in power backdoors and power slide doors, as well as drive motors for power windows and power seats.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the automotive industry has witnessed a shift from manually adjusted components to electrified ones, resulting in a growing demand for electric motors and an increase in the number of motors integrated into vehicles. This shift has led to a higher number of drivers used in motors, which in turn has driven efforts to downsize and integrate entire systems. Some motor applications do not require rotational speed control, necessitating drivers with basic functions and performance capabilities.
