TM One Collaborates with Melaka Authorities to Drive Digital Transformation

Melaka: Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (TM) enterprise and government sector solutions arm, TM One, has joined forces with the Alor Gajah Municipal Council (MPAG) and Syarikat Air Melaka Bhd (SAMB) to spearhead digital transformation initiatives in the region. The collaboration aims to enhance economic growth, public services, and support Melaka’s vision of becoming a leading smart city.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, TM One’s executive vice president, Shazurawati Abd Karim, stated that the partnership will introduce the Local Urban Observatory (LUO) smart solution, a data-driven platform designed to improve urban monitoring and decision-making in Alor Gajah. The five-year collaboration will integrate real-time data analytics, predictive insights, and public service tracking capabilities, aiding MPAG in monitoring urban metrics and gaining insights into infrastructure management, public services, and environmental sustainability.

Shazurawati emphasized that the LUO smart solution exemplifies how artificial intelligence and data analytics can drive sustainable urban planning and operational efficiencies. The initiative is expected to empower Alor Gajah to enhance public service responsiveness and create a more livable environment, aligning with Melaka’s smart city development goals.

In addition to urban monitoring, SAMB has appointed TM One to modernize Melaka’s water management services using smart workforce solutions via the Open Innovation Platform (OIP) and various digital tools. These include workflow and job assignment software designed to allocate tasks efficiently, track improved metering, restoration, and contractor management. Customised workforce monitoring devices will capture real-time data and on-site location reporting, enhancing operational visibility and safety. High-speed mobile connectivity will support communication and coordination, ensuring tasks are completed swiftly with improved service quality outcomes.

By digitalizing workforce operations, TM One aims to improve SAMB’s operational resilience and elevate service standards. Shazurawati also highlighted Melaka’s TM Response Centre operations, which connect the public to emergency assistance. The centre, one of three emergency call centres across Malaysia, is staffed by over 150 personnel managing emergency response calls 24/7, reinforcing public safety and security in the region.
