Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting 10 states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan, effective until 5 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the warning covers several regions, including Perlis, Kedah, and Penang. Specific areas in Perak such as Kerian, Larut Matang, Selama, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Muallim, Batang Padang, Kampar, and Kinta are also on alert. Additionally, Pahang areas including Bera, Rompin, Kuantan, Cameron Highlands, Maran, and Pekan are expected to experience severe weather conditions. In Selangor, districts such as Kuala Selangor, Klang, Kuala Langat, Petaling, Gombak, Sepang, and Hulu Langat are affected. Negeri Sembilan's Jempol and Jelebu, along with Segamat in Johor, are also included in the warning.
The advisory extends to parts of Sarawak, including Mukah, Miri, Bintulu, and specific areas like Selangau and Kanowit in Sibu, as well as Limbang, Kuching, Bau, Julau in Sarikei, and Belaga in Kapit. In Sabah, the Interior areas such as Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Membakut, Keningau, Tambunan, Tenom, and Sipitang, along with the West Coast regions including Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, and Tuaran, and Sandakan's Kinabatangan are under the warning.
Authorities urge residents in these areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during the adverse weather conditions.
