Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued warnings of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds for eight states, which are expected to last until 2 am. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the affected areas include several regions across the states of Kedah, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, and Negeri Sembilan in Peninsular Malaysia. Specifically, the warning encompasses Kedah's Bandar Baharu and Penang's South Seberang Perai. In Perak, the alert covers Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, and Batang Padang. Furthermore, regions in Kelantan such as Jeli, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang, along with Terengganu's Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and Kemaman, are on alert. Pahang's Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, and Pekan, as well as Negeri Sembilan, are also included. In Sarawak, the warning extends to areas such as Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Kapit, Bintulu, and Miri. Residents in these regions are advised to prepare for severe weather conditions and take necessary precautions.
