Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Set to Lash Parts of Malaysia Until Evening

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds expected to affect several states in Peninsular Malaysia as well as parts of Sabah and Sarawak until 9 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia highlighted that the affected areas in Peninsular Malaysia include the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, the Federal Territory of Putrajaya, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan, specifically in Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, and Jempol.

The alert extends to Johor, impacting Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru, as well as Terengganu, particularly in Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman. Pahang's areas such as Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan, and Rompin are also expected to experience severe weather conditions.

In Sabah, the warning has been issued for the Interior regions including Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Keningau, and Tambunan, along with the West Coast areas of Papar and Ranau. Tawau's Lahad Datu, regions within Sandakan like Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan, and the Kudat areas of Kota Marudu and Pitas are also on alert.

Sarawak's regions under warning cover Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei including Pakan and Julau, Sibu's Kanowit, Kapit's Song, Bintulu's Bintulu, as well as Miri's Subis, Miri, and Marudi, along with Limbang.
