Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Expected Across Malaysia, Sparing Terengganu

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds across 12 states and the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, effective until 9.00 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the alert covers the entire states of Perlis, Penang, Perak, Selangor, and Melaka. Similar weather conditions are anticipated in specific areas of Kedah, including Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu. In Kelantan, the districts of Jeli, Tanah Merah, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang are expected to experience these weather patterns.

The forecast extends to regions in Pahang, specifically Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, and Maran. Negeri Sembilan's Seremban, Port Dickson, and Rembau are also under warning, along with Tangkak, Muar, and Batu Pahat in Johor.

In Sarawak, the areas under alert include Kuching, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Sarikei (Julau and Meradong), Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri, and Limbang. The warning is also applicable to the Interior region of Sabah, specifically Nabawan.
