Putrajaya: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for 10 states and Putrajaya, with heavy rain and strong winds expected until 6 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia's warning encompasses the entire state of Penang, and specific districts in Kedah such as Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu. In Perak, the areas affected are Kerian and Larut, Matang, and Selama.
The forecast also includes parts of Terengganu, namely Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman. Pahang's affected areas are Raub, Bentong, and Kuantan, while in Selangor, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang are under warning.
In Negeri Sembilan, Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, and Jempol are expected to experience similar weather conditions. For Johor, the districts of Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are included in the alert.
In Sarawak, the warning applies to Subis, Miri, and Marudi within the Miri division. Meanwhile, in Sabah, the areas under alert are Beaufort, Tambunan in the Interior, the West Coast, Beluran in Sandakan, and Kota Marudu in Kudat.
