Ipoh:Police have arrested three foreign male students from a private higher learning institution for their suspected involvement in the murder of a local man in Kampung Kuchai on September 18.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ipoh police chief ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah stated that the suspects, aged between 17 and 20, were apprehended at their apartment unit this morning. The victim, a 53-year-old man, was discovered unconscious with facial injuries in an open area by members of the public.

He was transported to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun for treatment but was pronounced dead at 6:42 pm on September 22. A post-mortem examination determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Muhammad Najib added that the three suspects were detained to assist in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the motive for the attack and the relationship between the victim and the suspects.

The police chief has appealed to anyone with information regarding the incident to assist in the investigations by contacting the Ipoh District Police Headquarters at 05-2451500 or any nearby police station.
