The 29th World Gas Conference To Be Held In Beijing

Beijing: The 29th World Gas Conference (WGC2025) will be held from May 19 to 23 at the National Convention Center in Beijing, marking the first time the conference has convened in China since its inception in 1931. The event promises to showcase four significant highlights that are anticipated to draw considerable attention from industry stakeholders.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the conference will emphasize new trends in the natural gas industry amidst the ongoing global energy transition. Energy security and low-carbon transformation have emerged as critical global concerns, positioning natural gas as a pivotal element due to its attributes of safety, affordability, and sustainability. Li Yalan, President of the International Gas Union (IGU), highlighted that natural gas ranks as the third-largest energy source worldwide, with annual consumption exceeding 4.1 trillion cubic meters, which constitutes approximately 24% of the global energy mix. As a resource-rich, low-carbon, and clean energy source, natural gas plays an essential role in ensuring energy security and facilitating the energy transition.
