Kuala Lumpur: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) is offering an opportunity for depositors to obtain multiple Takaful protection plans, with coverage up to RM48,000, through the registration of two TH Khairat protection certificates with each appointed Takaful operator. Previously, TH depositors could only register for one certificate with each Takaful operator, namely Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd (STMKB) and Hong Leong MSIG Takaful (HLMT).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, starting from February 21, 2025, depositors can register for two protection certificates with each Takaful operator, allowing one depositor to have up to four Takaful certificates. TH stated in a statement that the premium remains at RM28 per year for each registered certificate, which provides protection benefits of RM12,000 in the event of death or total and permanent disability.

Beneficiaries are eligible to make claims up to RM48,000 if the depositor holds four protection certificates. Additionally, from this year onwards, pilgrims who hold the TH Khairat certificate will be covered for double the original benefit amount, increasing from RM12,000 to RM24,000 in the event of death while performing haj, with no additional charges.

Meanwhile, TH executive operations director Mohamed Ameen Abdul Wahab mentioned that this initiative aligns with TH’s commitment to continuously enhancing service quality and adding value for depositors. For depositors who pass away while performing haj, they are now eligible to claim up to RM96,000 if they hold a total of four Takaful certificates.

Registration can easily be done via the THiJARI app or by visiting the nearest TH branch for further clarification and assistance. Mohamed Ameen also noted that TH Khairat has recorded nearly 580,000 registrations since its launch in July 2023, benefiting 375 beneficiaries through claims amounting to over RM4.5 million.
