Kuala lumpur: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) today awarded haj operator (PJH) licences to 33 companies, including TH Travel and Services Sdn Bhd, for the 1448H/2027 haj season. The companies were selected following a comprehensive assessment to ensure they met the required criteria.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan stated that the selection process considered factors such as the companies' financial standing, track record, experience, and their ability to provide quality services to pilgrims. 'Tabung Haji also conducted checks with relevant agencies, including the Department of Waqf, Zakat and Haj (JAWHAR), as well as the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (MOTAC), to ensure the companies entrusted with this responsibility meet the requirements and have the capacity to fulfil their obligations,' he said at the PJH licence presentation ceremony today.
The minister also urged licensed operators to provide prospective pilgrims with clear, accurate, and transparent information, particularly regarding accommodation, transport, meals, and other facilities, to help them make informed decisions. He emphasized the importance of compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations to avoid severe penalties and fines, ensuring all pilgrims obtain the necessary visa and permit to perform the haj.
Meanwhile, Zulkifli highlighted that competition among operators should focus on service quality, innovation, and good governance without compromising pilgrims' welfare or trust. He reminded operators to comply with TH's licensing conditions and keep their information updated in the Haj Agency System to avoid penalties that could affect future licence approvals.
At the event, Zulkifli also presented the Haj Operator Awards in recognition of outstanding performance and to encourage higher service standards and best practices. TH Travel and Services Sdn Bhd won the gold award, followed by Wira Saujana Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd with silver and Jay Ibrahim Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd with bronze.
