Terengganu: Terengganu FC (TFC) are determined to secure three full points in the final match of the first round of the Super League against Sabah FC at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA) here tomorrow night.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, head coach Badrul Afzan Razali stated that the previous victory over Immigration FC (IFC) served as a morale booster for his team, aiming to continue their winning streak and strengthen TFC's position in the top five of the league. The upcoming match against the Rhinos holds significance not only for TFC to secure a home victory but also as a farewell gesture for their imported midfielder Nurillo Tukhtasinov, who is set to return to Uzbekistan at the end of the month.
Razali emphasized the importance of maintaining the winning momentum achieved in Penang and stressed the need for consistency and focus to collect three points. His primary objective is to keep TFC in the top five, which requires a win to distance themselves from competing teams.
In related news, Razali expressed relief over the recovery of several key players who were previously dealing with injuries. This recovery might allow them to participate in the match against the team coached by Jean-Paul de Marigny. The coach highlighted the importance of experienced players such as Muhammad Azam Azmi Murad and Muhammad Ubaidullah Shamsul Fazili in fortifying the Turtles' defense.
Razali acknowledged the strength of Sabah FC, noting their status as FA Cup finalists this season. Despite Sabah's recent loss to the Brunei team, Razali cautioned against underestimating them and emphasized the necessity for focus and discipline to secure points.
