Temporary Relief Centre Opens in Manjung Following Recent Storm

Manjung:A temporary relief centre (PPS) has been established in the Beruas sub-district of Manjung following a storm that struck the area yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Manjung District Officer Shamsul Ridzuan Idris announced that some storm victims, who were previously staying at a transit centre, remain unable to return to their homes. Consequently, a PPS was opened at 10 pm on November 1. Shamsul, who also serves as the chairman of the Manjung District Disaster Management Committee, released this information in a statement.

The Manjung District Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) reports that 17 victims from six families are currently taking refuge at the Taman Desa Beruas Community Hall PPS. The storm affected several areas, including Beruas town, Taman Beruas, Taman Desa, Perumahan Awam, Taman Seri Delima, Taman Limau Emas, Taman Anggerik, Kampung Kilang, Kampung Dendang, and Kampung Paya Lima.

Despite the storm's impact, no roads have been inundated or cut off. The current weather is clear, and river levels remain at a safe level, as stated by the APM.
