Teledyne Unveils SCION Family of VIS-SWIR Cameras

Teledyne judson technologies: Teledyne Judson Technologies, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies and a leader in advanced imaging solutions, has announced the launch of the SCION Family of SWIR cameras. This new line of high-performance cameras is designed for demanding applications, featuring a 10-micron pixel pitch and formats of 640x512 and 1280x1024. The SCION platform integrates Teledyne's expertise in high-sensitivity sensors with the speed, agility, and cost-efficiency needed for applications in hyperspectral imaging, biosciences, space and defense, and semiconductor markets.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the SCION cameras are suitable for a variety of applications including material analysis, fluorescence measurement, defect detection, and Earth observation. The initial sensor options provide sensitivity ranges from 300-1700 nm or 900-2500 nm, utilizing Teledyne's proprietary VisGaAs (Visible-sensitive InGaAs) and MCT (Mercury Cadmium Telluride) sensor materials. These cameras offer wide sensitivity, high frame rates, and sample-up-the-ramp (SUPR) capability, achieving sub-one-electron read noise with a one-second acquisition.
