Teen With Learning Disability, Convert Found Drowned In Sungai Kedah

Kuala lumpur: Two men, including a teenager with a learning disability who had been missing since last Friday, were discovered drowned in Sungai Kedah today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kota Setar police chief ACP Syed Basri Syed Ali reported that the body of 16-year-old Saw Chee Wan was identified by his family. The teenager had been reported missing from his home in Kampung Seberang Perak, which is located approximately two meters from where his body was found.

The discovery was made by a cleaning worker from the Alor Setar City Council (MBAS) at 9 am near Taman Pesisiran Jeragan, Ampang Jajar. Syed Basri stated during a press conference at the scene that the body was found lodged against a tree.

The second body, identified as Muhammad Amin, or N Thiagarah, 46, was also reported missing on the same day, June 12. Syed Basri mentioned that Muhammad Amin was a convert to Islam and a psychiatric patient from Tanjung Bendahara. The bodies were discovered about 100 meters apart, but investigations confirmed that there was no connection between the two individuals.

A forensic team from the Kedah Police Contingent Headquarters conducted examinations at the scene and found no elements of foul play. Syed Basri stated that the bodies have been sent to the Forensic Department of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for further action.

Syed Basri urged the public to refrain from speculating about the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the two bodies.
