Petra jaya: Mosques and surau should embrace digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance management and information dissemination, particularly among the younger generation, in line with the rapid growth of the digital landscape, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said. He emphasized that technological proficiency is no longer an option but a necessity, especially in reaching young people through more creative, interactive, and effective approaches.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadillah stated that in an increasingly digital world, mosques and suraus must leverage technology and AI to improve management efficiency and the dissemination of information to the public. He made these remarks after officiating Surau Nurul Muslimin in Kampung Sungai Bedil. Fadillah highlighted that AI could help expand dakwah efforts and enliven mosque and surau activities through more engaging content and wider outreach.
He underscored the importance of using the technology wisely, ethically, and responsibly to ensure its benefits are fully realized. Fadillah also pointed to the significance of digital literacy, enabling the public to distinguish genuine information from fake news and better navigate challenges posed by social media manipulation and deepfake technology.
