Pasir mas: A male schoolteacher has been arrested in Pasir Mas after allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old student and slapping the boy's mother in separate incidents, according to police.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pasir Mas district police chief ACP Mazlan Hassan confirmed that the 54-year-old suspect was detained yesterday after receiving a formal complaint from the victim's 42-year-old mother earlier that day.

He stated that the incident involving the student occurred at a secondary school on August 11. The following day, the student's mother approached the teacher to discuss the alleged assault, during which the teacher allegedly slapped her as well.

Mazlan mentioned that the teacher was taken into custody immediately after the report was filed and will be held for three days until August 15 to assist with police inquiries. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using weapons or dangerous means.
