Tenghilan: The Tamu Desa Pekan Tenghilan, with a project value of RM200,000, was completed in September last year and has now commenced operations, marking it as the 93rd Tamu Desa in the regions of Sabah and Sarawak. Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick announced this during the opening ceremony of the Tamu Desa Pekan Tenghilan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Tamu Desa project is part of the Look East Policy initiative spearheaded by the ministry, focusing on the development of Sabah and Sarawak while maintaining broader national initiatives. Datuk Ewon Benedick highlighted that the Madani government had allocated funds under Budget 2024 to initiate the construction of Tamu Desa premises starting last year.

In addition to this development, the ministry has launched the Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Enhancement Program (BEEP PLUS), a special grant designed to support Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Sabah and Sarawak. Last year, financial support was extended to 113 companies in Sabah and 50 Bumiputera companies in Sarawak, with grants exceeding RM13 million.

Datuk Ewon Benedick emphasized that these initiatives are in response to the needs of the people in Sabah and Sarawak, particularly the entrepreneurs, as facilitated by KUSKOP.
