Kuala Lumpur: Mosques and suraus under the administration of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) have been directed to ensure that the best facilities are available for congregants during the month of Ramadan, which begins tomorrow. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar has emphasized the importance of these provisions as part of the Ihya’ Ramadan programme, which will be conducted by various agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar conveyed his wishes for a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan, expressing hope that Muslims would be granted the strength to meet their religious duties throughout this auspicious month. He shared these sentiments in a social media post, joined by other cabinet ministers who also extended their Ramadan greetings and well-wishes to the Muslim community through social media platforms.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu called for moderation, advising the public to avoid wastage and thoughtfully plan their expenses during Ramadan, especially concerning food purchases for breaking fast. Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli highlighted the opportunity Ramadan presents for self-improvement, strengthening one’s relationship with Allah, and fostering unity among Muslims.
Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan expressed his prayers for the health and longevity of Muslims to enable them to observe fasting diligently, increase their worship, and engage in charitable acts. Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad pointed out that Ramadan is not only about fasting but also a platform for promoting tolerance and mutual respect.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa shared her hope that Ramadan would bring peace and reflection, encouraging Muslims to deepen their piety. Similar sentiments were echoed by other ministers, including Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, and Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi expressed his wish for Ramadan to bring joy to all Muslims and recommended the use of the ‘MYJalan’ app for reporting potholes while traveling to mosques.
