Accra:Assistance for women entrepreneurs under Budget 2027 aims to enhance production capacity and broaden market access, facilitating business expansion locally and into ASEAN markets, according to a women's entrepreneur association.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Persatuan Usahawan Wawasan Wanita Malaysia (WAWASANITA) honorary advisor Datin Dr Hartini Osman highlighted the importance of financing, training, and business development support. These measures could enable women entrepreneurs to transition from maintaining operations to scaling up production and accessing international customers. Hartini noted the potential for improvements, such as increasing production from 100 to 1,000 packs daily.
The budget allocates RM1 million to the Kasih Ibu Tunggal (KasihnITa) programme, focused on empowering single mothers towards greater independence, and the KIRANA Programme, which offers training, equipment grants, and digital marketing guidance. Hartini emphasized the need for agencies to assess current assistance recipients to determine necessary improvements for business growth.
Hartini, also the G100 global president for 2026, advocated for comprehensive support covering financing, leadership development, entrepreneurship training, and market access. She stressed the importance of extending women's business reach beyond Malaysia to ASEAN markets.
She called for better coordination among agencies aiding women, particularly single mothers, to ensure complementary programmes that reach those yet to receive benefits. Hartini suggested that reviewing existing programmes collaboratively would prevent overlapping assistance and address business development needs effectively.
Highlighting the cooperation between government agencies and NGOs, Hartini urged open engagement with entrepreneurs to address challenges and devise practical solutions. She expressed optimism that support in financing, skills development, business expansion, and market access would help women entrepreneurs advance from local to global markets.
