Sunway lagoon: Sunway Lagoon has introduced the Sunway Tiny Experience Factory (STEF), a first-of-its-kind edutainment attraction that combines creativity, technology and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning through an immersive miniature vehicle assembly experience. In a statement today, Sunway Lagoon said STEF is Southeast Asia's first attraction to offer a comprehensive miniature vehicle assembly experience featuring both the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) and Completely Built-Up (CBU) production journeys.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, spanning about 189 square metres, the attraction features six immersive rooms and allows visitors of all ages to experience interactive technology, hands-on learning and full customisation in an environment inspired by a modern automotive factory. 'STEF transforms miniature vehicles into an interactive experience, allowing visitors to become active participants in the manufacturing process - from assembling vehicle components with robotic assistance to customising their own miniature vehicle,' the statement said.
Visitors begin their journey with an interactive factory briefing before choosing either the CKD or CBU experience and customising their own Tiny (Mini Cooper) model. They will then go through robotic-assisted manufacturing, hands-on assembly, UV printing and laser engraving of their customised licence plate before receiving a personalised STEF Driving Licence, certificate and completed miniature vehicle as a souvenir.
For the CKD experience, visitors assemble a miniature vehicle from individual components, similar to the process of vehicles delivered in separate parts before final assembly. With guidance throughout key assembly stages, visitors fit together the vehicle's body, undercarriage and interior before completing their creation with one of three roof designs and a personalised laser-engraved licence plate.
The CBU experience offers visitors a complete vehicle production journey through an automated manufacturing process inspired by the Completely Built-Up concept. Across 10 interactive stations, visitors experience various stages involved in producing a fully assembled miniature vehicle, including die casting, spray painting, injection moulding, robotic component handling, automated assembly, UV printing and laser engraving of licence plates.
'The experience showcases how robotics, technology and precision engineering work together to improve efficiency and drive innovation in modern manufacturing,' the statement said. Sunway Lagoon said STEF transforms STEM learning into an engaging experience by allowing visitors to discover how engineering, creativity and technology come together in modern manufacturing.
The attraction is designed for children, families, students, hobbyists and miniature model collectors. 'Sunway Tiny Experience Factory reflects our commitment to creating immersive experiences that combine entertainment, creativity and education in meaningful ways. Beyond the experience itself, STEF encourages guests to become active creators rather than observers, leaving with not only a personalised miniature vehicle but also a greater appreciation of how technology and creativity come together in everyday products,' the statement said.
STEF is now open at Sunway Lagoon and operates daily from 11 am to 11 pm, except Tuesdays, unless during Malaysian school holidays and public holidays. Tickets are priced at RM99 for the CBU experience and RM69 for the CKD experience.
