Kuala Lumpur: Sunview Group Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, has secured an RM45.04 million engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract from Quantum Sustainable Energy Sdn Bhd. The contract is set to foster the development of a solar photovoltaic (PV) energy generation facility with a total capacity of 10.58 megawatt peak (MWp) at University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in Sabah.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sunview Group announced that the project would be executed in two phases. Phase 1 will cover a capacity of 9.36 MWp, while Phase 2 will encompass 1.22MWp. The facility will integrate rooftop solar panels and building-integrated PV within UMS premises, including parking facilities.
Sunview Group’s executive director and group chief executive officer, HP Ong, emphasized that the project further solidifies the company’s position as a trusted partner in delivering sustainable energy solutions. He highlighted the initiative’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its contribution to a greener academic environment.
Ong stated, “By bringing renewable energy into the university campus, we are supporting UMS’s commitment to making a positive impact on the world. The project will serve as a stepping stone towards expanding green energy solutions into more campuses, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility for future generations.”
