Kuala lumpur: Sunway Construction Group Bhd's (SunCon) wholly owned subsidiary Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd (SCSB) has secured a general contractor package works for a data centre development worth RM570 million from a United States-based multinational technology corporation. SunCon announced it has accepted a letter of award (LoA) for the core and shell package works for the development of a data centre on a site in Johor.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the price for the works is approximately RM570 million, inclusive of sales and service tax. The US-based multinational technology corporation retains the option and the right to award the mechanical and engineering fit-out works package for the project to SCSB, subject to the finalisation and execution of the contract for the project.

SunCon noted that the LoA also serves as a notice to commence the works, which are targeted for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026. The project is anticipated to positively impact the earnings of SunCon Group starting from the financial year ending December 31, 2025, onwards.
