Sultan Nazrin Inaugurates Bagan Datuk Waterfront Square

Bagan Datuk: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today officially opened the Bagan Datuk Waterfront Square here. His Royal Highness was accompanied by the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, and was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk, along with Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event was also graced by the presence of the Raja Di Hilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris, and the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa. As part of the inauguration ceremony, Sultan Nazrin witnessed a maritime demonstration conducted by the Royal Malaysian Navy, the Marine Police Force, and the Department of Fisheries Malaysia at the Perak River.

Following the ceremony, Their Royal Highnesses explored an exhibition that showcased the history of Bagan Datuk. The district holds the distinction of being the 12th district in the state of Perak.

The Bagan Datuk Waterfront Square project includes several developmental components such as a tourist jetty terminal, recreational and leisure facilities for visitors, conservation of shopfront facades, and road upgrades in Bagan Datuk town.
