Sultan Nazrin Hosts Iftar with Media, NGOs, and Corporate Leaders

Kuala Kangsar: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, hosted an iftar event at Istana Iskandariah, bringing together representatives from the media, non-governmental organizations, corporate sectors, the private sector, government-linked companies, and youth.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event was also graced by the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim. Key attendees included Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubir, along with Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) president Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini.

The gathering saw the presence of Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, Broadcasting Department director-general Datuk Suhaimi Sulaiman, and Media Prima Group Deputy Managing Editor Farrah Naz Abd Karim.

During the ceremony, Sultan Nazrin received business zakat contributions on behalf of MAIPk, amounting to RM3,250,676, from five corporate entities. The zakat handover was led by Boustead Plantations Berhad, represented by Chief Financial Officer Nina Wirasatria Md Husni, contributing RM250,676. This was followed by an individual income zakat submission by Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal’s son, Syed Amir Nidzamuddin, totaling RM2,400,000.

Further contributions included RM200,000 from Empayar Indera Sdn Bhd, represented by General Manager Datuk Hasrin Abdul Rahman, and another RM200,000 from the Railway Asset Corporation, presented by Chief Executive Officer Datuk Azhar Ahmad. Public Islamic Bank Berhad Chief Executive Officer Syamsul Azuan Ahmad Fauzi concluded the zakat offerings with a RM200,000 contribution.

Sultan Nazrin joined guests in performing the Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers, followed by a communal dinner.
