Ipoh: A total of 50 single mothers from Pertubuhan Usaha Niaga Wanita Perak (PUNP) were honoured in the 2025 Ramadan Tour Programme held at the Department of Broadcasting Malaysia (RTM) Perak compound here today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, RTM Perak director Karim Sadiran stated that the programme, themed ‘Honouring Single Mothers in the Month of Ramadan,’ aimed to appreciate the resilience and sacrifices of single mothers in their daily lives. The event, supported by main sponsors including Petron Malaysia, Baba’s, NesQ, and Jasmine and Olive, celebrated 50 single mothers along with their 30 children.

Sponsors of the programme contributed hygiene and personal care items valued at RM180 per box, providing essentials such as towels, bath soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and sanitary pads. Karim Sadiran expressed his hope for the continuation of the programme next year, with the involvement of more corporate sponsors to support the community.

One of the recipients, Tun Syarilla Zainuddin, 50, shared her gratitude for the assistance, noting it was her first time being honoured in such a programme. She expressed appreciation for the celebration and contributions received, mentioning that the assistance would be put to good use.
