Sultan Nazrin Hosts Break-Fast Ceremony and Receives RM5.4 Million Zakat Contributions

Kuala kangsar: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, participated in a break-fast ceremony with representatives from the media, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the corporate and private sectors, government-linked companies, and youth at Istana Iskandariah. The event, attended by the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, also saw the presence of notable guests including Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, and the Chairman of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Media Prima Berhad Group Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Syed Hussian Aljunid, Media Prima Group Managing Director Datuk Mohd Rafiq Mat Razali, Director-General of Broadcasting Ashwad Ismail, and Sinar Karangkraf Group Editor-in-Chief Zamri Rambli were among the distinguished attendees. Prior to breaking fast and performing Maghrib prayers, Sultan Nazrin participated in the recitation of tahlil, followed by congregational Isyak and Tarawih prayers with the guests.

Earlier in the evening, Sultan Nazrin accepted business zakat contributions totaling RM5,417,188.56 from eight corporate companies and two individuals for Zakat Perak Al Ridzuan (ZAPAR). The presentation was initiated by Datuk Abdullah Abdul Mannan, who contributed RM1,000,000 in income zakat. This was followed by Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa), represented by its President, Datuk Seri Dr. Abdul Fattah Abdullah, who contributed RM364,852.56.

Additional business zakat contributions included RM380,000 from Belati, represented by Johawaki Group Chief Executive Officer Mohamad Akmal Johari, and RM434,000 from Boustead Plantations Berhad, represented by Managing Director Datuk Zulkarnain Md Eusope. CelcomDigi Berhad, represented by Head of Region (Northern Region) Farizad Khan Msm Mohamed Ali, contributed RM107,000, while Johawaki Plantation Sdn. Bhd, represented by Johawaki Group Chief Marketing Officer Abdul Hadi Abdul Rahim, contributed RM150,800.

Further contributions included RM250,000 from the Land Surveyors Board Malaysia, represented by Board Secretary Mohd Riza Halim, and RM200,000 from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), represented by Chief Operating Officer Mastura Mohd Khalid. Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal also presented an income zakat contribution totaling RM2,300,000. The final business zakat presentation came from TM Technology Services Sdn Bhd, represented by the General Manager of TM Network Perak, Sallehuddin Khalif, amounting to RM230,536.
