Suaram Executive Director Had Statement Taken, Not Arrested, Police Clarify

Putrajaya: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) have refuted claims that Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM) executive director Sevan Doraisamy was arrested, as reported by several news portals today. Putrajaya district police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed clarified that the police only recorded Sevan’s statement at the Putrajaya district police headquarters.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sevan’s statement was taken following allegations that he had entered the Home Ministry on Monday without a pass. ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed confirmed to the media that the interaction was limited to recording the statement, emphasizing that no arrest was made.
