Kuala lumpur: The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in five states and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a statement from the department identified Muallim and Batang Padang in Perak, Hulu Langat in Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur as areas expected to experience such conditions until 4 pm. Similar weather conditions were also expected in Manjung, Perak Tengah, Hilir Perak, and Bagan Datuk in Perak; Kulim, Baling, Sik, and Pendang in Kedah; and Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Selangor in Selangor until 5 pm.

In Pahang, the conditions were expected to persist in Cameron Highlands and Lipis until 4 pm. Meanwhile, similar adverse weather conditions were forecast for several areas in Sabah until 5 pm, namely Sandakan (Tongod and Kinabatangan), Tawau (Lahad Datu), West Coast (Ranau), and the Interior (Pensiangan).
