Batu kawan: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today reminded the people not to be influenced by racial hatred or express sentiments that could undermine national harmony. Instead, the prime minister called on the people to embrace unity in diversity, which he described as Malaysia’s strength in driving the country’s development. He stressed that incitement to racial hatred would not bring about national progress and that only stability could ensure sustainable development.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar said the MADANI Government under his leadership was making continuous efforts to resolve the people’s issues, including housing, poverty, and the cost of living, without marginalising any race, especially minority communities. He emphasized the shared responsibility of all Malaysians to preserve national unity, highlighting the importance of caring for all ethnic groups to ensure the country’s safety and survival.

Anwar also underscored the importance of addressing issues through dialogue rather than incitement or emotional appeals. He mentioned that change in government should follow proper parliamentary procedures, emphasizing that nation-building takes time and cautioning against divisive actions that could destabilize the country.

He noted Malaysia’s stability on the international stage, citing recent global attention during the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Kuala Lumpur. Anwar highlighted high-level discussions between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, as well as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, marking significant diplomatic engagements hosted by Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Anwar, who also serves as the Finance Minister, announced an additional RM10 million allocation to the Ministry of National Unity for nationhood programmes. This announcement followed a request by National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang for a special allocation to support initiatives for the younger generation.
