Johor: Barisan Nasional (BN) Johor has announced that the party will contest in all 56 State Legislative Assembly seats in the upcoming state election. The announcement was made by Johor Menteri Besar and state BN chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi through a post on his Facebook page.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Onn Hafiz stated that the decision was made after considering the views of the people of Johor and the grassroots leadership of UMNO and BN Johor regarding the party's direction ahead of the election. He expressed a strong sense of conviction and responsibility in declaring that Barisan Nasional Johor is prepared to contest all the State Legislative Assembly seats.
The decision reflects the party's commitment to offering a stable and strong government that aims to serve the development and well-being of the Johor populace. In the previous 2022 state election, BN secured 40 seats, while Pakatan Harapan won 12, Perikatan Nasional 3, and MUDA captured one seat.
Additionally, the PH convention is scheduled to take place tomorrow, which is regarded as a crucial event in determining the coalition's direction and preparations for the potential Johor and Melaka state elections this year.
