Kuala lumpur: Spain produced a commanding display to outclass two-time champions France 2-0 and book their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final at Dallas Stadium in Texas, United States, on Tuesday. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mikel Oyarzabal's first-half penalty and Pedro Porro's composed finish after the break sealed a deserved victory for 'La Roja', who controlled proceedings with slick passing, disciplined defending and assured possession throughout the semi-final. Under head coach Luis de la Fuente, Spain, the 2010 world champions and reigning European champions, are now one win away from lifting their second World Cup title. France, champions in 1998 and 2018, struggled to find their rhythm as Spain dictated the tempo and kept Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, and Bradley Barcola largely quiet for much of the contest. Spain broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute after France left-back Lucas Digne felled Lamine Yamal inside the penalty area. Oyarzabal made no mistake from the spot, beating Mike Maignan despite the goalkeeper diving the right way. France suffered another setback eight minutes later when centre-back William Saliba was forced off through injury and replaced by Maxence Lacroix. Spain continued to execute their game plan effectively, moving the ball with confidence while France struggled to gain a foothold in the match as their attacking trio found little space to operate. La Roja tightened their grip on the contest in the 58th minute through a superb team move finished by Porro. The right back pounced on Dani Olmo's clever first touch before calmly steering the ball past the advancing Maignan to double Spain's advantage. Yamal thought he had put the result beyond doubt four minutes later when he raced past Digne, cut inside and curled a superb effort into the top corner, but the goal was ruled out for offside. France pressed in the closing stages but were unable to breach Spain's well-organised defence as La Roja comfortably saw out the remainder of the contest to secure another cle an sheet and a place in the final. France head coach Didier Deschamps, meanwhile, created World Cup history by taking charge of his 26th match in the tournament, the most by any manager. Spain will face either defending champions Argentina or England in Sunday's final.
