Kuala Lumpur:The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has initiated a global K-Seafood campaign to enhance the visibility of Korean seafood, leveraging the growing popularity of K-food worldwide.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the campaign uses the influence of K-Culture to brand K-Seafood distinctively, with K-POP group ZEROBASEONE chosen to showcase its appeal to international consumers.
Under the slogan 'Give it a Kick, Dive into K-Seafood', the campaign aims to establish a strong global brand identity through four dynamic videos that present seafood products in an engaging manner. The ministry emphasizes a creative approach, highlighting each product's unique characteristics through trendy and playful expressions familiar to younger audiences.
For instance, the campaign uses the theme 'GAK' for flatfish, promoting it as 'No.1 K-Flatfish! The world-class GAK!' Oysters are marketed with the Korean slang 'POM', emphasizing style and presence, with the message 'Try the POM of K-Oyster. Best bang for your buck'. Korean dried laver, or GIM, is promoted for its 'absolute crispiness' as a global hit. Finally, the abalone product uses the slang 'DDING' to express surprise, presenting K-Abalone as a seafood that leaves a lasting impression.
The ministry anticipates that this campaign will highlight the quality and allure of Korean seafood globally, amid increasing interest in K-culture and K-food, while also promoting K-Seafood through various international content and initiatives.
