Kuala lumpur: The Startup Accelerator Grant Assistance Programme, known as Uyarvu MADANI, is set to provide substantial aid to Indian entrepreneurs within the B40 and M40 income brackets, as part of six initiatives launched by the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (MITRA). This initiative, heralded by the Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI), aims to bolster the socioeconomic development of the Indian community in Malaysia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MAICCI President Datuk Seri N. Gobalakrishnan emphasized the significance of the Uyarvu MADANI programme, highlighting its role in supplying phased grant assistance, start-up capital, and technical support. The programme also offers access to commercial networks and industry mentors, creating a supportive ecosystem for Indian entrepreneurs. Gobalakrishnan assured that MAICCI will actively facilitate the distribution of these grants to business owners belonging to the B40 and M40 categories.
The announcement of MITRA's six initiatives, backed by a government allocation of RM65.5 million, was made by Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan last Friday. These initiatives are designed to empower the Indian community through various programmes focused on financing incentives, skills training, and market access. Gobalakrishnan expressed MAICCI's commitment to collaborate with business chambers and stakeholders to amplify the impact of these programmes on Indian entrepreneurs.
He further elaborated on the phased approach to disbursing assistance, which includes performance monitoring and evaluation to ensure transparency and the successful achievement of targeted objectives. Beyond entrepreneurship, Gobalakrishnan acknowledged additional MITRA initiatives in areas such as education, human capital development, healthcare, welfare, and community development, all poised to benefit the Indian community significantly.
Furthermore, MAICCI Secretary-General Tharchanaa M. S. Pandian highlighted the importance of educational investments through initiatives like Celik MADANI and Kalvi MADANI, aimed at enhancing access to quality education for the younger generation. Programmes like Arogya MADANI and Thunai MADANI are also expected to alleviate the burdens of those in need and improve community well-being.
