Sister Of Pahang Sultan To Be Laid To Rest At Royal Mausoleum In Pekan

Kuala lumpur: The remains of Tengku Puteri Seri Kemala Tengku Datuk Seri Aishah Almarhum Sultan Ahmad Shah, the elder sister of the Sultan of Pahang, were taken out of the Masjid Khalid Bin Al-Walid, Jalan Padang Tembak, here at 10.30 am today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the remains were then transported to the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Subang Air Base to be flown to the RMAF Kuantan Air Base. Upon arrival at the Kuantan Air Base, the remains would be taken to the Pahang Royal Mausoleum in Pekan to be laid to rest with full honours and ceremonies.

Earlier, the funeral prayer was performed with the director-general of Islamic Affairs, Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters, Major General Datuk Mohd Rashidi Bujai, leading the prayer. Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah paid her last respects to the deceased and was understood to have also assisted in preparing the remains before the funeral prayer was performed.

Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Aishah Rohani Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud and the deceased's sister, Tengku Puteri Seri Teja Datuk Seri Tengku Muhaini Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, were also present to pay their last respects. Also present were former Chief of Defence Forces General (Rtd) Tan Sri Affendi Buang, as well as relatives and family members.

It was reported that Tengku Datuk Seri Aishah died at 9.15 pm yesterday at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
