According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sirehemas executive director Nik Juzailah Juhari stated that the products are currently available exclusively through online platforms such as Shopee and TikTok, with plans to expand distribution into pharmacies and convenience stores. The sales target for Malaysia is set at 36,000 boxes, while projections for Singapore and Indonesia reach 100,000 boxes each. These products, designed as daily dietary supplements for individuals aged 35 and above, are priced between RM180 and RM240. Additionally, the products have been successfully exported to Indonesia, Cambodia, and Japan.
The launch marks the official introduction of Euglena-based supplements, a type of microalgae containing 59 essential nutrients known to boost immunity and support detoxification. The event was attended by Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) chief executive officer Mohammad Hazani Hassan, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) director of Special Programme and Digital Trade Sections Asnor Vidya Nor Azmi, and Euglena co-founder and executive partner Dr. Kengo Suzuki.
Mohammad Hazani mentioned that MTDC plans to promote local companies involved in producing halal-certified food products, highlighting the need for local companies to venture abroad. He emphasized that although there is substantial food production, much of it remains within the local market, and MTDC aims to support international expansion.
Asnor Vidya noted that the partnership between Sirehemas and Euglena showcases the synergy between Malaysian innovation and Japanese biotechnology. She emphasized that MATRADE’s mission is to elevate Malaysian products and companies globally, highlighting the potential for regional and international expansion. The collaboration comes at a time when the global health, wellness, and beauty industry is rapidly growing, driven by the increasing demand for natural and science-backed products.
