Seven Ministers and Eight Deputy Ministers Take Oath in Malaysia

Kuala lumpur: Seven ministers, including two new appointees, and eight new deputy ministers swore an oath of office, allegiance, and secrecy today before His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, at Istana Negara.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the swearing-in took place at the Singgahsana Kecil of the palace at 10 am, witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Anwar, who serves as Finance Minister, announced the recent appointments and reshuffling of several portfolios in the MADANI Government Cabinet yesterday. This decision followed several vacancies and the necessity for adjustments within the cabinet.

The ministers and deputy ministers also signed their instruments of appointment, with Chief Justice Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh serving as a witness. The new ministers include Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup as Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad as Minister of Plantation and Commodities, and Datuk Seri R. Ramanan as Human Resource Minister. Other appointments are Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir as Minister of Economy, Dr Zulkifli Hasan as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Mustapha Sakmud as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs), and Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari as Youth and Sports Minister.

The newly appointed deputy ministers are Sim Tze Tzin, Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah, R. Yuneswaran, Mordi Bimol, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Chiew Choon Man, Datuk Lo Su Fui, and Marhamah Rosli, serving various departments including Investment, Trade and Industry, Economy, National Unity, Youth and Sports, among others.

The ceremony concluded with a photo session before the attendees departed from Istana Negara at 10.45 am.
