Kuala lumpur: A series of earthquakes struck the Philippines, Tonga, and Vanuatu Islands. According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Mindanao, Philippines, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted the area at 2306 GMT on Monday, as reported by the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. The epicentre, with a depth of 10 kilometres, was initially determined to be at a latitude of 7.70 degrees north and a longitude of 126.74 degrees east.

In Tonga, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 affected the southern part of the country at 2312 GMT on Monday, the United States Geological Survey stated. The epicentre, with a depth of 10 kilometres, was initially determined to be at a latitude of 24.78 degrees south and a longitude of 175.26 degrees west.

Meanwhile, in Vanuatu, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 was recorded at the archipelago at 2010 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences confirmed. The epicentre, with a depth of 10 kilometres, was initially determined to be at a latitude of 14.52 degrees south and a longitude of 168.07 degrees east.
