Semporna and Tuaran PKR divisions will continue to support the reform agenda despite the resignations of their respective chiefs, said PKR Sabah information chief Ahmad Farid Sainuri. He stated that both divisions, now formally led by their respective deputy chiefs in an acting capacity, remain committed to advocating for the rights of the people of Sabah, particularly focusing on the implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and broader institutional reforms.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Farid highlighted that under the MADANI Government, reforms related to the MA63 have seen significant progress, with 13 out of 29 demands resolved, nine of which were addressed during the current administration. He emphasized the government's dedication, further evidenced by the increase of Sabah's interim special grant to RM600 million and the active pursuit of government-to-government discussions regarding Sabah's 40 percent revenue entitlement.</P&g t;
Ahmad Farid also commented on the nature of political transitions, stating that political exits and entries are integral to a mature democratic system. The recent resignations of PKR Semporna division chief Mohd Amin Abdul Mem, who also served as the PKR State Leadership Council vice-chairman, and PKR Tuaran division chief Mohammad Razeef Rakimi from all party positions and their departure from the party, illustrate this dynamic.
