PGA Foil Attempt To Smuggle 90 Cattle And 100 Goats To Neighbouring Country

The General Operations Force (PGA) Southeast Brigade has successfully detained 12 individuals and seized 90 cattle and 100 goats suspected of being smuggled from a neighboring country. The livestock were intended to meet demands for this year's Hari Raya Aidiladha festive season.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, GOF Southeast Brigade Commander, SAC Ahmad Radzi Hussain, reported that the seizures involved 10 livestock smuggling cases recorded from January 1 until yesterday. The total estimated value of the confiscated livestock amounts to RM457,200.

The highest seizure occurred last April, involving 28 cattle and 100 goats valued at RM204,000. This included 13 smuggled cattle worth RM39,000, which were intercepted at Kampung Manan, Bunut Susu, Pasir Mas on April 20. Ahmad Radzi highlighted that livestock smuggling syndicates remain active and are attempting to exploit the surge in demand ahead of Aidiladha.

Further commentin g, Ahmad Radzi revealed that from January 1 to yesterday, Op Taring Wawasan Kelantan (OTWK) recorded 795 cases involving 979 arrests. The total value of all seizures during this period reached RM45.4 million.
