Selangor’s Strategic Push to Enhance Local Workforce for Investor Retention

Accra:Selangor Selangor is set to intensify its efforts in developing the skills of the local workforce to maintain its appeal to foreign investors. The goal is to ensure that the state is seen not just as a gateway for investment, but as a prime location for sustained economic activity.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari emphasized the importance of bolstering local talent through various programs and support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). These initiatives aim to help local companies grow and not merely serve as ancillary support for multinational corporations and foreign investors.

His comments were made during the 'In Conversation with Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari' session at the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026.
