Selangor: A special briefing session for all members of Parliament and state assemblymen (ADUN) in Selangor regarding the recent gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights will be held after the conclusion of the first day of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting tomorrow. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that the session will be conducted by the technical investigation committee, comprising representatives from the police and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the objective of the briefing session is to ensure that all elected representatives clearly understand the facts of the incident and do not form their assumptions. Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari emphasized the importance of this understanding as he addressed reporters during the launch of the Plastic-Free Campaign 2025 Series 2.

The Menteri Besar further explained that the briefing will be conducted after tomorrow’s sitting due to the technical nature of the issues involved. Once briefed, the matter could be brought up and debated in the state assembly. State Public Health and Environment Committee chairman Jamaliah Jamaluddin was also present during the announcement.

The Second Meeting of the Third Session of the 15th Selangor State Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be held from July 7 to 18. On June 30, during a special press conference, the Selangor police chief stated that no elements of sabotage, foul play, or negligence were found in connection with the underground Petronas gas pipeline explosion in Subang Jaya on April 1.

In response to these findings, the state government established a special committee to review the full investigation report and propose appropriate follow-up actions. The committee will engage with various stakeholders, including federal agencies, focusing on disaster management and public communication related to the incident.
