Shah alam: A total of 127 individuals from the Kota Anggerik state constituency, who performed the recently concluded haj pilgrimage, each received RM1,000 through the 1446H/2025 haj muassasah incentive, which was open for applications from April 22 to July 25.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi, who is also the Kota Anggerik assemblyman, stated that the incentive is part of the state government’s efforts through Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI Selangor) to aid first-time haj pilgrims. “This initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden of first-time haj pilgrims, and this year, all eligible recipients will receive RM1,000, compared with RM500 in previous years,” he mentioned during a presentation at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque.
The Selangor government allocated RM6 million for the haj muassasah incentive this year via MBI Selangor. Additionally, Mohd Najwan revealed that his office provided community assistance totaling RM60,000 to 10 recipients, including individuals, NGOs, and residents’ associations in Kota Anggerik, to support local community activities.
One of the incentive recipients, Abu Hassan Darusman, 61, expressed gratitude for the aid, noting its importance in managing his family’s expenses, including his children’s education. “The application was submitted by my son after we received a notification via WhatsApp a few months ago. Not long after, we were informed that it had been approved,” he shared, noting that his family, except for his wife registered in another constituency, benefited from the initiative.
