Schools in Sabah to Close Temporarily Amid Haze Concerns

Tawau:Sabah The Sabah government has mandated the temporary closure of schools in regions where the Air Pollutant Index (API) exceeds 150 for three consecutive days.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Secretary Datuk Zainudin Aman, who chairs the State Disaster Management Committee, announced the decision as a protective measure for pupils and teachers against the negative health effects caused by haze.

Zainudin also mentioned that this action aligns with the Education Ministry's directive, which follows the advice of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim. Currently, all schools in Tawau have been instructed to close starting today due to deteriorating haze conditions.
